Overview of K2 and Gondogoro La Trek:
The K2 Base Camp and Gondogoro La Trek, a world-renowned trek across the heart of Karakoram mountain range in Gilgit-Baltistan Pakistan’s. The trek provides a unique chance to see some of the world’s highest peaks, including K2, the world’s second-highest mountain. It takes 18 to 21 days and takes trekkers through challenging valleys, glaciers, and high-altitude passes, all while providing breathtaking views of the region’s renowned peaks.
The trek begins in Skardu, the gateway to the Karakoram, and continues until Askole, the last village before entering the wilderness. Trekkers leave Askole and follow the Braldu River, passing through stunning scenery, moraine fields, and breathtaking valleys. Concordia, a world-class campsite surrounded by prominent peaks such as K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum, is a key highlight of the trek. Concordia, also known as the “Throne Room of the Gods,” provides trekkers with a breathtaking 360-degree perspective. Reaching the K2 Base Camp at 5,150 meters (16,896 feet) is an unforgettable moment for trekkers, giving them a firsthand look at K2’s towering presence.
The trek then proceeds towards the Gondogoro La Pass, a challenging ascent standing at more than 5,500 meters. (18,000 feet). After breakfast, guests will explore the historic Kharpocho Fort, which provides breathtaking views of Skardu town and the Indus River. In their free time, they might choose to explore Skardu Bazaar and take a trip to the tranquil Sadpara Lake. Meanwhile, our team will complete the relevant government papers, which could take up to one or two days. Contingency days are scheduled at the end of the trek to provide for potential delays.

The Trek will start with an amazing jeep safari through the scenic Shigar Valley on the way to Daso. The trip will follow the Braldu River, which has a magnificent path that leads to Askole, the last community on our itinerary. Members will get up from the jeeps and start their walk as soon as they arrive at Askole, though in certain situations, the trip may start earlier, depend on the state of the roads. The full trip, which offers an immersive experience in one of the most untouched and breathtaking environments, is expected to take six to eight hours, depending on the situations and terrain.

After finalizing the essential equipment and supplies, the porters will prepare for the journey to Jhola. This valley is a gateway to the beautiful Biafo Glacier, which runs 50 kilometers from Hispar La to Braldu. Members will experience the excitement of moraine trekking as they navigate the glacier’s snout before descending to a peaceful lunch site near the Korofong River.
The route continues to the spectacular confluence of the Braldu and Domordo rivers. Rather than following the traditional way, we will choose a newer, more adventurous trail ahead. The athletes will cross the river using a strong bridge. On the other side, the track descends to the Braldu River’s edge, leading travelers along its peaceful banks to reach the camp at Jhola.
