Deosai National Park encompasses over 3,000 square kilometers of high-altitude plateau, sitting at an average elevation of 4,114 meters. Known locally as 'Byarsa' or the land of giants, this vast wilderness is the second-highest plateau in the world. The park provides a sanctuary for the endangered Himalayan brown bear and offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan and Karakoram ranges, including the massive Nanga Parbat. At the heart of the plains lies Sheosar Lake, a 2.3-kilometer-long alpine lake known for its crystal-clear waters and mirror-like surface. This jeep safari traverses remote, untouched landscapes, crossing glacial streams and meadows that bloom with wildflowers during the brief summer window. With no permanent settlements or modern connectivity, this tour offers a raw, authentic adventure into one of Pakistan's most secluded natural wonders.

Arrival at Skardu Airport via a scenic flight from Islamabad. Transfer to the hotel for acclimatization. Afternoon briefing at the partner office regarding altitude safety and wildlife viewing. Free time to explore Skardu bazaar for supplies.
Depart Skardu in 4x4 jeeps, climbing steadily into the Deosai Plains. Cross the Chilam Chowki park entry and traverse rugged terrain. Stop at Kala Pani for lunch before arriving at Sheosar Lake. Set up camp at the Bara Pani site and enjoy a campfire dinner.
Wake up for sunrise over Sheosar Lake followed by boating and optional fishing. Afternoon jeep safari deeper into the plains for wildlife spotting, specifically looking for brown bears, marmots, and golden eagles. Return to camp for a second night under the stars.
Final morning photography on the plateau. Break camp following leave-no-trace practices and drive back across the plains toward Skardu. Arrive in Skardu by early afternoon for freshening up before transferring to the airport for your flight.
Note: Deosai is a remote wilderness with no hotels, shops, or mobile coverage. Weather can change rapidly; snow flurries are possible even in June or September. Jeep safaris involve rough terrain and stream crossings. Nights are cold, often dropping to freezing, making warm gear essential.
